Elombi said the bank’s cumulative financing has supported investment across key sectors including energy, telecommunications, financial services, construction, tourism, and manufacturing.
Speaking during the official ceremony, Abdalla described the project as a reflection of long-standing confidence in Africa’s economic potential and the strength of Egypt’s partnership with Afreximbank, which spans more than three decades.
Madbouly added that Egypt, as host country of Afreximbank’s headquarters, is strengthening its partnership with the bank through a facility designed to serve as a hub for trade information, capacity building, innovation, and regional connectivity.
The ceremony took place at the Afreximbank African Trade Centre site in Egypt’s New Capital and was attended by senior government officials, diplomats, financial leaders, and representatives of regional and international institutions.
